Inside St. Jude's Church

If you are ever in the area, our Church is well worth a visit. Officially opened by Archbishop Beck on 13th July 1965, it is a beautiful, fan-shaped building which affords the whole congregation an uninterrupted view of the white marble sanctuary.

The sanctuary, itself, is dominated by the giant mosaic of the Crucifixion.

On the evening of the blessing of the foundation stone, there was an unexpected hitch. Apparently, a photographer caused a short circuit and all the lights fused! The ceremony continued by the light of candles and a policeman's torch until the fuse was fixed!
